| Peace of Mind - Health Card for Pets | November 30, 2007 |
If you encounter an emergency situation with your pet, one where you are asked for detailed information -- like at an emergency pet hospital -- can you provide those answers on the spot? If you had a natural disaster hit your area and couldn't get home for a while, don't you think it would it be nice to have your pet's information on you and let a third party know that you are separated from your pets? Nobody wants to think about a sudden unexpected event, but being prepared by getting our pets' detailed information ready seems a good way to give yourself peace of mind.
I had always wanted to have my pets' information handy just in case my husband and I are caught in a sudden traffic accident (for example) and can't get back home. I came across an article by The Humane Society of the United States about My Pet's Health Card -- a handy thing to have for pet owners who would like to be well-prepared. My Pet's Health Card can include information such as your address, your pet's photo, records of vaccination, rabies tag, allergy, microchip, and your veterinarian's information. It may come in handy for grooming, boarding, and emergency clinic care. You can even show the photo of your pet to people! It's very affordable, too. For more information, visit here.
I purchased this card recently, and now it is snuggly in my wallet.
