A Natural Remedy
Thanks to the recent health trends, we see more and more homeopathic remedy products in health food stores. Pets are also helped by the many holistic veterinarians who practice homeopathy.

What is homeopathy?

The concept of homeopathy goes back as far as Hippocrates, although the German physician Hahnemann established a more integrated form of homeopathy in the 19th century.

The main idea of homeopathy is "the law of similars" and "Like cures like". Homeopathic doctors use remedies in extremely diluted forms to treat the diseases. A large amount of the same substances would cause animals symptoms similar to those your pets may be suffering, but a minute amount of the substances can actually help the body heal.

Suppose your pet has itchy skin. Homeopaths will choose remedies that can cause itchy skins if given a large amount to a healthy animal. However, diluted forms of the same remedies can soothe your pet's itchy skin, instead of harming it.

There are more than 2,000 homeopathic remedies. The ingredients of homeopathy usually come from plants, minerals, and animals. Homeopathic remedies are completely different from conventional approaches. Conventional doctors usually prescribe headache medicine for headaches, itch-stopping medicine for itching. Homeopaths, on the other hand, will look at the entire body of the animal first. They feel that symptoms that show (such as itching) are only a manifestation of many disturbances that stem from the same cause. In homeopathy, it is important to look for the root cause. Every aspect of your pets counts in homeopathy Ephysical and mental conditions, age, living environments, stress, personality, preferences of foods, weather, and temperature, and so on. With all these into account, your homeopath will choose one appropriate remedy for your pet.

Consulting a homeopathic doctor is time-consuming, but when the most appropriate remedy is given to the pets, it is effective, whether the symptoms are acute or chronic.

Your cat and dog may have more than one symptom. Homeopathy deals with all of them as one. No matter how many signs your pets may have, your homeopathic veterinarian may prescribe only one remedy. If it is the right one, there is a chance it may take care of as many problems as your pets have. These multiple problems your pets are experiencing may originate from one cause, after all.

All the symptoms your dog or cat have are the warning signals that there is something going on in his/her body. These symptoms are not the cause by themselves, but the body may be merely trying to cope with the situation by eliminating toxins. Your pet's body naturally comes with the power to heal itself. The body is busy restoring itself by manifesting various signs on the body.

Each pet is an individual. They are all unique animals. Do your dogs have itchy skin? The root cause may be different - one dog may have food allergies, and the other may have flea allergies. There are different natural remedies for each of our pets. Homeopathy is one such natural remedy that you can choose. Please find a holistic vet who is knowledgeable about homeopathy.
