A Strong Immune System
The Key to Pet Health
With the recent health trends, everyone knows that it is important to maintain a good immune system to stay healthy. They say the same thing about pet health. However, the word "the immune system" sounds somewhat abstract. What is the immune system? What does the immune system do for us and for our pets to keep us healthy?

The immune system is a dynamic system in the body, composed of various organs, glands, cells, tissues and so on, working together defending against invading foreign substances such as viruses, bacteria and toxins. The immune system is a defense force team in a way, and the team keeps busy protecting our body by combating troublesome invaders who want to pillage it. What makes the immune system a system is that the organs don't work alone and are not located in just one spot in the body. They are located throughout the body and work together hand in hand to protect you. Once an invader is spotted, the immune system sends in numbers of cells to the spot and fights it off. We and our pets can have a healthy life every day thanks to the immune system constantly fighting off foreign substances that are undesirable to our body.

If our immune system gets weak or stops functioning properly, we will be in trouble. Our body will be more vulnerable to infections and it may take the body longer to recover from illnesses. Some people (or pets) may get sick easily while others may not. The weaker the immune system, the more likely infections may remain in the body and cause problems. The healthy immune system is the key.

There are many factors in modern life that can be adverse to maintaining a healthy immune system. Chemicals, environmental pollutants, food additives, pesticides and herbicides, stressful lifestyle, lack of exercise, poor eating habit are just a few examples. Choosing to live a more natural lifestyle, by reducing the use of chemicals, eating a wholesome food, and regular exercise for example, may be a good step toward a healthier immune system.

A strong immune system is essential to the good health of your pets.
